Fieldwork Campaign across Wales and Northern Ireland

In line with Li4UK’s strategy to determine the dissemination of lithium across the UK two geologists from Cornish Lithium conducted a successful fieldwork campaign across Wales and Northern Ireland.

In some places it was a struggle to not get bogged down.

In Northern Ireland the team met with the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland (GSNI) where they were received with a warm welcome and some expert consultation on the local geology. They also had the opportunity to delve into the historic archives held at the GSNI.

Success was found at several sites including this example of greisen veining.

The consortium is now moving to the next stage where samples from across the UK will be examined for mineralogy and lithium content.
